History - 50 years of experience

The 50's and the 60's

Segers & Balcaen started its activities back in the fifties with artisanal manufactured cellophane packages, mostly for the textile industry. In this period its founder, Mr Segers, already prospected the possibilities of polyethylene film production. It was then decided to switch over to the production of this material.

The 70's

The demand on the market together with the keen entrepreneurial spirit to produce films with enhanced value resulted in the acquisition of the first printing machine.

The 80's

Segers & Balcaen keeps growing on the market of printed film and specialized products. The company becomes the first screen flexo printer in Benelux.

The 90's

It's during this period that Segers & Balcean establishes its own extrusion division. This way the company can respond with more flexibility to the demands of the customers and the S & B team acquires a thorough technical know-how in this field.
The purchase of a laminating machine brings Segers & Balcaen an even wider range of possibilities and access to new markets.
From a company initially focused on the local market, Segers & Balcaen has now profiled itself as one of the most important flexible packaging printers in Europe.

2004

This is the year that Segers & Balcaen acquired SB Diest, as a second production plant. The expansion of the production possibilities make of Segers & Balcaen a solid and reliable partner for your packaging needs. Through optimization in production units in both companies we can achieve the best quality and flexibility for our customers.
